Dalia Fernandez, from Santiago de los Caballeros, was crowned Miss Dominican Republic 2011 during an event held on March 8th at the Renaissance auditorium of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo.
The 21-year old beauty, who was crowned by outgoing queen Eva Arias, stands 1.76 m tall and will represent the country at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil, next September.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Santo Domingo Norte, Katherine Cruz; and the 2nd runner-up Miss Distrito Nacional, Kirssi Abreu. Both beauties will compete at the Miss Continente Americano and Reina Hispanoamericana contests.

MISS UKRAINE UNIVERSE 2011 - Olesya Stefanko
22-year old Olesya Stefanko was crowned “Miss Ukraine Universe-2011″ during a ceremony held at Kyiv’s Art & Culture center on Saturday, December 11th. Olesya, who stands 178 cm tall, comes from Ivano-Frankivsk region and is a student at the Odessa Law Academy.
The winner, in addition to receiving a golden necklace with precious stones, gets the right to represent Ukraine at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant expected to take place in the United States next August.
The 1st runner-up was Anastasiya Buriak (18) and the 2nd runner-up was Irina Samulya (20). All five finalists won vouchers for tourism trips to Cannes.
The organizer of the contest, Oleksandra Nikolayenko-Ruffin (Miss Ukraine 2001) was not present at the contest due to other commitments, but sent a congratulating message to the winner.

19-year old Laury Thilleman, who competed as Miss Bretagne, won the title of Miss France 2011 during the annual event held in Caen, on December 4th. Laury, who hails from Pontivy, is a student of Communications who stands 1.79 m tall and will represent her country at the 2011 Miss Universe pageant to take place in August.
The 1st runner-up was Miss Languedoc, Jenna Sylvestre. The 22-year old student of commerce from Carnon stands 1.71 m tall and is expected to represent France in the Miss World 2011 pageant.
The beauties from Auvergne, Picardie and Ile-de-France completed the top 5. Alain Delon was once again, president of the Jury.
The winner gets a prize of 100,000 Euro.
This was the first time since 1954 that the Miss France contest was not under the patronage of Madame Genevieve De Fontenay, who broke her contract with Endemol months ago, citing creative differences. De Fontenay then created her own rival pageant, called “Miss Nationale”.

MISS COLOMBIA UNIVERSE 2011 - Maria Catalina Robayo Vargas
CARTAGENA DE INDIAS, November 15th - Maria Catalina Robayo Vargas, a 21-year old student of Law from Cali, Valle del Cauca, was crowned Señorita Colombia 2010-2011 during the conclusion of the annual event held at the Cartagena Convention Center.Catalina, who stands 1.74 m in height, will represent Colombia at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant to be held in late August of next year. She is the only woman in history to compete twice in the national contest; being a runner-up at the Señorita Valle preliminary, she had to suddenly replace the winner and went on to Cartagena for the nationals. A week later, the original winner reclaimed her position and Catalina had to go home.
Due to the extent of the situation, she was appointed Miss Valle 2010, giving her another chance to return to nationals and compete for the title, that she won.
The 1st runner-up or "Virreina" was Miss Magdalena, Lizeth Carolina González. She is 24 years old and will represent the country at the 2011 Miss International pageant in Chengdu, China (photo, right).
The 2nd runner-up or "Primera Princesa" was the big favorite, Natalia Valenzuela from Huila; while the remaining runner-ups were Misses Bolívar and Bogotá. These three ladies will represent Colombia in various international contests in 2011.

For the first time, the Miss Venezuela pageant crowned Miss Venezuela Earth, she is 18-year old Caroline Medina, Miss Aragua. Standing at 1.78 m in height, she will compete at the Miss Earth 2011 pageant to be held in the Philippines.

Last night, the Miss Mauritius 2010 finals took place at the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius in Bel Ombre.Winner was 19-year-old Laetitia Darche.

MISS MEXICO UNIVERSE 2011 - Karin Ontiveros
SALTILLO, COAHUILA, Sep. 25 - For a second consecutive year, the Nuestra Belleza Mexico crown went to the contestant from Jalisco, Karin Ontiveros. The 22-year old student from Amatitan, was crowned by the reigning Miss Universe, Jimena Navarrete also of Jalisco.Karin, who stands 1.80 m in height, will represent Mexico at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant to be held next June.
Meanwhile, Nuestra Belleza Nuevo Leon was crowned Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico 2011. Her name is Cynthia Alejandra De la Vega Oates. The 18-year old top model stands 1.80 m tall, and will compete in the Miss World 2011 pageant to be held later next year.
NB Aguascalientes, Gabriela Palacio, was named Nuestra Belleza Suplente and will represent the country in case any of the two winners are unable to fulfill their duties. She is also expected to represent Mexico at the Miss International 2010 contest to be held in Chengdu, China, November 7.
The remaining runner-ups were Cohauila (Cecilia Flores) and Distrito Federal (Lucia del Cueto).
31 women competed in the contest. Perla Beltran Acosta, Miss Grand Slam 2009, was among the judges who elected the winner.
