Sony Ericsson A8i

The A8i runs OMS 2.0, which is more commonly known as China Mobile's OPhone brand operating system, a custom version of Android.

The A8i, which measures 117mm x 59mm x 14mm (4.6in x 2.3in x 0.55in) and weighs 126g (4.44oz), offers an advertised 7.5 hours of 3G talk time, 5 hours of GSM talk time, or 10.8 days of standby.

Epic 4G , Galaxy S Android 2.2 software update

Android software update - thats where Samsung completely lost in the recent past.Samsung is known as the makers of feature rich phones with very good hardware but something that pulled down Samsung lately is their poor software support.
When Samsung announced the Galaxy S lineup in New York this past June and said they would update them to Android 2.2, I never imagined it would take them till 2011 to accomplish that goal. We had the expectation that those updates would occur in September, but month after month passed and no OTAs were delivered.

HTC pushed out the first round of Android 2.2 updates in about six weeks, so we have absolutely no idea why Samsung was unable to keep up.

It looked like the Epic 4G might be the first Galaxy S phone in the United States to see Android 2.2, but Sprint pushed back the update and only said it would be available “sometime in the near future”.

At the end of the day, I don’t see the situation improving any time soon until consumers start to demand (aka purchase) phones with the latest version of Android. Samsung hit their goal of becoming the top manufacture of Android phones in the U.S., so there is little reason for them to change their current strategy.

The number of upset customers is certainly growing, but I’m not sure if Samsung has received the message yet. As we approach the next-generation of Samsung devices, the biggest question (among the hardcore crowd) will continue to be their commitment to providing software updates in a reasonable time frame.

Acer beTouch E140 - An Android Smartphone with GPS Wifi

Acer  in Russia announced the launch of beTouch E140 a feature rich smartphone.The handset sports a 2.8-inch 320 x 240 touchscreen display, a 600MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), an FM tuner, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1300mAh battery and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

Huawei Ideos X5 And X6 With Android Froyo- features

The Huawei Ideos X5 and Ideos X6 are the phones with large displays (4.1-inch WVGA).   The Huawei Ideos X6 is a high-end smartphone that features a  capacitive display, HSPA (up to 14.4Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS, Dolby Mobile surround sound, HDMI port, a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera with HD video recording. Meanwhile, the Huawei Ideos X5 has a 3.8-inch WVGA screen, HSPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 5MP camera. Both handsets are powered by the Google Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing at this time.

HTC Desire Z Qwerty 512 MB RAM Vodafone carrirer

Following the release of HTC Desire HD, the company have also revealed the QWERTY-packing Desire Z smartphone.Most phones find their way to qwertyness targeting quick finger gadgeteers.

The hardware keyboard kicks out on a little hinge, leaving the device more or less flat when it's in use. It's pretty comfortable, with all keys within easy reach without pulling a thumb muscle.

Specs wise you're looking at a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, 5MP camera with flash and 720p video recording, 512MB RAM and running Android 2.2 (Froyo).

It's also got the new Sense UI, which pairs up with a dedicated website to offer data backup (or wiping if the phone's security has been compromised) as well as moving all you files and contacts into the cloud.

The Desire Z is expected to hit stores in October, with Vodafone announced as the first carrier.

Upgraded version Samsung Galaxy S Froyo Android 2.2

Samsung Electronics today announced the Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S, providing users access to new features, enhanced navigation applications

and improved performance. The Android 2.2 upgrade will be available via Kies, Samsung’s unique in-house software upgrade program. The new Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade provides a GPS navigation system with a voice guidance and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support. The Android 2.2 upgrade will be available from the mid of October 2010 in the Nordic region and gradually rolled out to other European markets, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, North America, Africa and rest of the world.
