Padma Shri Dr.Brahmanandam who has been spreading smiles since 20 years on-screen is celebrating his 55th birthday on 1/02/2011. The Star comedian seems to be getting better and better with the age. It's not a surprise that no big budget tollywood movie is without this comedian Brahmanandam. He has been ruling the tollywood from two decades.
From "Ahana Pellanta" to till date, he has been ruling the hearts of audiences with his mind-blowing characters and created history by entering the Guinness book of world records.
On the occasion of the actor's birthday, let us recall some of his ever- green characters.
"Aha naa pellanta"- Brahmanandam has debuted with this film which was directed by Jandhyala. His character named Ara gundu was a servant to a greedy miser Lakshmipathy (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Although Brahmanandam was a debut, he has rocked in the movie with a full length role. The movie remained as a best comedy movie the Telugu film industry has ever seen.
"Varasudu" – The actor played the role of a lecturer in the film where there were humorous scenes in the college class room between Brahmanandam and the college students that includes Nagarjuna, Nagma, Babu Mohan and others. The scenes were so fun-filled that one can't be idle without laughing.
"Money" – The actor has played a role of Khan Dada in the film who lends money to people. He has a passion for becoming a hero. Taking his weakness J.D. chakravarthy and Tanikella bharani cheats him for money who, will be joining in a mental hospital at the end of the film. Brahmanandam character as Khan Dhada was the real highlight of the film.
"Hello Brother" – Hello brother saw a rocking performance from the actor, who was an assistant thief to hero (Nagarjuna). The timing and punch dialogues by him in the film left the audiences with a non-stop laugh.
"Anaganaga oka roju"—RamGopal Varma's directorial is a super hit movie. Brahmanandam who says his name as Michael Jackson in the film played the role of a thief. Although he has fewer dialogues in the film, his dialogue "I want to meet Nellore Peddha Reddy right now" became so famous that nobody still forgets it.
"Kshemanga Velli Labham Ga Randi" – Brahmanandam has played a full-length comedy role in the film. The whole flick was a fun-filled entertainer and especially the episode where his wife (Kovai Sarala) bangs him remained as an ever-green comedy episode.
"Manmadhudu" – He played the character, Suri babu Lavangam who settles in Paris by marrying a Paris lady, Alda. Although he was only seen in fewer scenes, his on-screen presence and his expressions were mind-blowing in the film. He played a crucial role in the film's success.
"Venky" – He is Gajala from Washington D.C who meets the hero (Ravi teja) in the train and acts smart by insulting him, but later, will be hurt by the hero hardly. The Gajala character made the audience spread smiles throughout the episode.
"Pokiri" — Bramhi, software engineer the character clicked so well in the film, especially the comedy track between Ali, Venu madhav and Brahmanandam was one highlight and Brahmanandam trying to flatter Ileana was the other best part. The film was a Blockbuster hit which crossed all the records in 75 years of Telugu film industry at that time.
"Dhee" — The comedy entertainer might not have come so well, if the Chary character was not played by Brahmanandam. The actor has played it so well that the audience, when thinks of the film will strike his character in their minds with a dialogue, "Nannu involve cheykandi Rao garu"
"Krishna" – The Bobby character (Brahmanandam) in the film is the best part of the film. He played a full-length comedy role in the movie, who faces problems with Ravi Teja and maintains an extra-affair with his servant in the film.
"Ready" – The McDowell Murthy character in the film is one of the ever-green characters of him, who plays an accountant role and tries to fool his clients but gets fooled by hero (Ram). McDowell Murthy character proved that he is the best.
"King" – Brahmanandam has played the character of Jayasurya, a music director who copies the tunes from other languages and uses it in Telugu. The part where Nagarjuna hits him in the first half of the film is highly entertaining.
"Anjaneyulu" – Although Anjaneyulu remained as an average film, the actor's character brought good applauses. He played the character of a creative head for a news channel. Brahmanandam proved that he never disappoints audiences in his films.
"Adhurs" – Bhattacharya character in 'Adhurs', was styled so meticulously by director VV Vinayak that no viewer will walk out of the theater without laughing. The punch dialogues by him are filled with lot of humor. The role of Bhattacharya in 'Adhurs' is still bringing lot of applauses.
"Ragada" – Brahmanandam played a lengthy role in Ragada, which takes off interestingly. Brahmi's flirting scenes with Anushka calling her Sirisha darling are hilarious. The punch dialogues between Nag, Brahmi and Anushka are perfectly entertaining.
